Yes. The body may be sore due to the soft tissue and joint release that was done. After the treatment, it will begin adjusting to a “new normal” range of motion. At the same time, the nervous system adapts from a dysfunctional or pain and inflamed state to a normal state. Don’t worry, this will settle! If you are in pain, use ice and heat therapy on the affected area between appointments. This will help modulate your pain and discomfort. Start by applying ice (not directly on the skin) for 10 minutes, then take a 10 minute break. Repeat this for about an hour. Then, you may apply some heat to the surrounding musculature to help loosen tight muscles. Gentle movement such as walking and swimming, if tolerated, is recommended too.
Yes. Even if you are pain-free, it is essential to book a follow-up to ensure the treatment has worked well for you. In the follow-up session, we will also create a customised preventative plan for you to follow. This will help you avoid further injuries and pain.
There may be some discomfort during the treatment. However, since everyone’s pain threshold is different, we will modify the treatment to reduce any discomfort you might experience.
